Joshua Tree National Park in the spring can be a magical place.  Temperatures
range from the mid 30's at night to the mid 80's in the daytime.  No water sources exist in the wilderness areas.   Planning a backpacking trip has to be well thought.

On this solo trip (May 2003), I spent 3 days and traveled 18 miles in the area of "Juniper Flats".  The total weight of my backpack at the start was 55 lbs.
