San Jacinto Peak is the second highest mountain in Southern California. At 10,800 feet, it's the closest thing to alpine climbing in this part of the country.

Here are pictures from a weekend (Nov.21 & 22, 1998) solo, backpack trip. Temps ranged between 24° & 40°.
